Two Unique Nantucket Wedding Locations
There are so many great places to get hitched in Nantucket. It really comes down to your couple’s style and whether you want something beachy and casual or something a little more formal. Two of our fabulous venues are being featured on La Bella Bride’s Blog this week – The Wauwinet and The White Elephant.
The Wauwinet hosts larger weddings during the shoulder seasons and is now offering packages for more intimate weddings/events. The White Elephant, one of the island’s venues that is first to book up quickly can handle smaller weddings as well as a hotel full of guests. Both locations provide space for an outdoor ceremony with spectacular natural backdrops for your nuptials. Be sure to check out the La Bella Bride Blog for even more information on these two great island locales.

Fall on Nantucket…
We LOVE this time of year on Nantucket! Each weekend the island swells with visitors coming over for the many Nantucket weddings taking place and new brides visit to plan the exciting details for their weddings next year. The days are sun-filled, the evenings are crisp AND you can get a table at many of the islands top notch restaurants! Yay!
We can’t pass up all these fall specials and wanted to share with you what some of our favorite restaurants are offering. Great excuse to check them out for a possible rehearsal dinner location or reception venue. Bon Appetit!
A Nantucket Wedding: The Galley Part 3
Dawn Kelly from Soiree Floral worked with Meagan to create this elegant tent interior. Meghan and Darryl wanted a chic beach feel with modern touches. Meghan definitely knew she wanted green to be the dominating color in the tent with accents of blue in the menu cards and cupcakes.
You can see how texture was brought not only into the flowers but also in to the table settings. Unique, ‘bubble’ shaped plates and an iridescent charger created the place settings, topped with a square lucite napkin ring and a green orchid bloom. Place settings available at Placesetters.

A Nantucket Wedding: The Galley
Meghan and Darryl were married on a beautiful sunshine filled day on Nantucket. The elements of their wedding stood out to us from the very start and we couldn’t resist showcasing their entire wedding.
Preparations took place at the new White Elephant residence. Meghan’s hair was done on site by Darya Salon and make-up by Lizzie from Beauty By The Sea.
Transportation to St. Mary’s church was provided by Cranberry Transportation for the bridal party and the bride and her parents arrived in the Highland Drivers 1964 Princess.
Flowers and Decor were done by Dawn Kelly and her team at Soiree Floral.

Cheers erupt from the bridal party as Meghan shows off her finished look.
These three nearly stole the show as they walked down the isle together.
A special moment for every wedding, when they couple sees one another for the first time.
So happy!! As they drive away as husband and wife.

Tabletops – Part III
We are back with a dramatic, modern look for the next tablescape. The vendors involved had fun creating a unique look for a couple who has bold tastes. Place card and menu by Marty Kelly Papers.
Opalescent chargers, layered with a frosted swirl plate, and modern flatware.
Etched glasses with a dynamic shape give some height on the table, and the square lucite napkin rings finish off the modern placesetting. For those couples who love the ghost chairs that have been so popular in all the magazines (and no, they are not available here on island) a great alternative is the ‘glass’ chiavari chair. They are oh-so-mod!
The black floral applique on this overlay is stunning and three dimensional. It gives another layer to the overall tablescape. Linens and placesettings by Placesetters, florals by Soiree Floral.
A special thank you to the Galley Beach for letting us set up this tabletop at the restaurant.
Tabletops – Part II
Today we continue with our series on tabletops, shot at the beautiful Galley Beach. Some Nantucket brides love the look and feel of a Nantucket wedding with the ‘traditional’ elements. Items like lightship baskets, basket weave patterns, seashells – you get the idea. Well, our savvy vendors took those elements and with a few simple tabletop changes, changed the overall look of the same table from yesterday.
Jen Shepherd of Placesetters, Inc chose rattan chargers with a napkin ring to match, water glasses in a heavy glass etched with shell motifs, and a white dinner plate with a basket weave design.
Dawn Kelly of Soiree Floral chose a Nantucket Lightship basket brimming with beautiful spring blooms. The soft colors and fluffy blooms soften the tablescape and ties together the rattan and basketweave textures.
The finishing touches to the table include custom designed paper goods by Marty Kelly of Marty Kelly Papers. Adding touches of soft blue and shells to the escort cards completes the design.
