Nantucket Weddings Unveiled

We thought it might be nice to share a little 411 about the editors who created this site devoted to all things Nantucket Weddings.  So here is a glimpse into the lives of two creative gals who stumbled on a thought in the middle of a freezing cold January morning while going over notes for a few upcoming weddings….

Dawn Kelly, owner and creative director of Soiree Floral & Event Design, creates the unexpected with every bouquet, centerpiece and event she designs. Before any event, Dawn can always be found adding her dramatic touch and repeating her design mantra, “the little details turn an ordinary event extraordinary…after all it’s not a party until it’s a Soiree!”
While her designs may be dramatic, Dawn’s clients will tell you she brings a sense of calm, balance and sensibility to the creative process. She credits her ability to stay calm under pressure to her time spent working on Wall Street. Having left behind the world of dark suits and pinstripes, Dawn revels in an environment where color and texture are her signature. As Dawn guides you through the process of selecting linens, chargers, specialty lighting, and table-scape design she always has an eye toward a cohesive look and feel of the entire event. Once the event is complete, Dawn gets to enjoy her favorite part of the process…reminiscing with satisfied clients who have become part of the Soiree family.

Brea McDonald of Brea McDonald Photography is a true New Englander at heart. Brea spent her childhood summers on Cape Cod, lived on the coast of Maine for her college years and called Nantucket home for just over 8 years. Brea works throughout New England capturing the beauty and character that lies in these small towns and bustling summer communities. Having photographed weddings for nearly 10 years Brea has been able to fine tune her skills as a photographer to capture the feeling and ambiance of a wedding. As she says, a wedding is so much more than the planned moments of the day, it’s the ones happening in between and on the sidelines that tell a couples whole story.
